It's Monday!!!!!!

Well I finally got the house back together. After having 14 for Christmas and 5 dogs, it was truly time to clean! So now I am sitting here with a cup of tea and eating all the left over cookies because I just can't bear to throw them away (sounds like a good excuse doesn't it?). Went and did a little shopping and came up with a great idea. Since the sales are so good right now, I'm thinking of having Christmas on the 29th or 30th next year so I can go out and buy the same gifts only for a lot less. I think that sounds like a plan, now to just convince the kids!
We are expecting Nicholas back this week so I'm going to enjoy my "quiet time" while I can. Even with all the running after, saying no no no, I really miss the little guy when he's not here.
Hoping the new stove shows up on Friday, but really doesn't matter now. We got through the holidays with the old one and it worked just fine. I am just being a brat and wanting the new one NOW!!!!!! (And I wonder where Nicholas gets his persistent attitude? Hum?)

Are you getting a Viking or Electrolux? That would be my lottery wish!
I noticed on your profile for music...Did you mean Tab Benoit?
My husband is a novice fan and got a CD for Christmas. It's Bayou music.

Happy New Year!

Nikki,
I am getting a 60" Wolf range with 6 burners, a grill, griddle and double ovens! I LOVE to cook and am really excited about it. It's my retirement gift to myself.
As for the music, yes, I did mean Tab Benoit. We go to New Orleans every year for the Jazz Festival and I love Bayou Zaydeco music.

Diane..have fun with the stove and Nicholas too1
We love The Blues a lot..Etta James is a fave, as well as Robert Cray, jimmy Hughes and Dave Von Ronck. We also like Zaydeco music. What a coincidence- I had not heard of Tab before and within a week we own the CD and he's a favorite of a fellow-blogger!
We live in Iowa and have gone to Blues festivals here but have ever been to New Orleans before. Don spent some time there while working in Mobile during hurricane adjusting-insurance- many years ago. He liked it.
New Years- an early dinner with friends and then call it a night.
Talk to you soon...Nikki
