At 1:15 p.m. on Monday, our Claire finally arrived. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 18 inches long. She is a real chunk! This one looks like our family - with all those multiple chins! She has lots of very very blond fuzz (especially in the back of her head) and one, possibly two dimples. And those, I might add, she gets from her Nana!!!!!
Nicholas was great with her. Gave her a kiss and a hug and even told his mother, "cute." I think Claire looks very much like her Aunt Kate did at birth. She has the same coloring, chubby cheeks, and blond fuzz. Lucky for Claire!
Here are some pictures of Claire, Claire & Nicholas, their Mom and Dad and the very proud grandparents!

Another boy, huh! Don't underestimate Mother Nature. I'm so happy for all of you. Have a blast and write when you can.
Nikki, we are having so much fun with our girl! Even though I was so sure it was a boy I had already bought several outfits. Oh well, I'll save them for the next child! Claire is beautiful and so much fun to shop for. I just may need to UNretire to afford her!
As the mother of just girls and the grandmother of three grandsons- and 1 granddaughter- girls are too much fun. However, I was always kind of afraid of boys- no brothers- until Tristan came along 14 yrs. ago.Boys rock- no BS- they just seem more laid back. Cool thing- Tristan and I went to a 6 hr. Indie film festival last night. 14 and hangin' with Gramma- I'll take it when I can get it!
Enjoy these days- they go by quickly!
Nikki,
I know what you mean. It seems like just yesterday my own kids were little guys. Now, they are having kids of their own. How did that happen? Having had two of each, I was really able to get the best of both worlds. I only hope when my grandkids get a little older that they will want to hang with their Nana. You are lucky to have a grandaughter who wants to spend time with you. Hope you guys enjoyed the film fest.
